After receiving over 70 entries the three selected finalists were; Lesley Conroy, Jemma Curran and Mick Donnellan.  The finalists went through an online/remote one-on-one mentoring session with playwright Eugene O’Brien.

On Thursday 28 May 2020 the 3 new works of theatre were performed by Carolyn Bracken, Aaron Monaghan and Clare Monnelly and directed by Jim Culleton. Followed by a discussion panel with Jesse Weaver (Abbey Theatre), Gina Moxley, Eugene O'Brien and Phillip McMahon.

This year's winning playwright is Lesley Conroy, for her short play; 'Cleaner' performed by Carolyn Bracken. Lesley's prize is 1-1 development with the Abbey Theatre and a place on a playwriting course with Fishamble.
